This project is a collaboration between CED and our partner to create a functional sculpture inspired by exhibition design principles. It serves as a semi-play feature within the Grand Center Point Pattaya water park in Thailand, which has a sci-fi, space-themed concept.
The installation itself takes the form of a space pirate ship, straightforwardly communicating its theme especially since children make up the majority of its users. To cater to young visitors, the design removes sharp edges and features a U-shaped walkway, guiding kids along a set path. Along the way, they encounter interactive stations that simulate life aboard a pirate ship such as hoisting sails and manning water cannons.
Before construction begins, CED and our partner create a scale model to assess production feasibility and review the overall design concept.
